Jimmy Killen has been involved in the building of broiler units for over 30 years. Many of the first broiler houses are still in service, testament to the quality and durability of a Jimmy Killen poultry house.

Select Broilers

Select broiler houses have been recently introduced into poultry industry. This type of housing has external windows to provide the birds with natural light. Jimmy Killen’s was one of the first involved in the design these houses and has been continually reviewing and using feedback from clients to ensure that we find the best possible building solution.

 We are also the main company which is undertaking the refurbishment of existing broiler houses to meet ‘Select’ specifications. Each refurbishment project comes with its own set of unique problems and issues; with our experienced team we are able to provide the best solutions available.

Free Range

With ever increasing consumer demand for free range produce, Jimmy Killen’s is able to provide housing which meets all aspects of this specialised market. Our free range poultry housing can incorporate naturally or forced ventilation, clear-span or posted trusses, roof overhang or verandas with galebreaker, and insulated pop-hole doors.

Breeder

We consult with the producer to make sure that we built the optimum house for their needs; ventilation, nest layouts, cleaning requirements. All these enable us to design a house which will give the best possible environment for egg production.
